ECON 320 LAB: Econometrics

Instructor of record, Spring 2026.

My approach to teaching econometrics labs emphasizes clear structure and active practice. I pair concise instruction with hands-on in-class exercises, weekly problem sets, and prompt feedback, giving students structured, low-stakes opportunities to apply econometric concepts and build confidence working with data.

I think it is very nice that we are learning how to implement the concepts we learned in class to analyze real data using python. I think the lab is great and very helpful.

The empty and completed class files are helpful to work with the code along the way during class, but also see how it should look like. The lab exercises are very thorough, comprehensive, and detailed so it’s easy for me to understand what I’m working on.

I would say that for me, the way that the class is open to questions, and how you thoroughly make sure all questions are answered, allows me to learn the material as best as I can.

I find it to be helpful in understanding how econometrics is applied in the real world, and how we are expected to use the tools we are learning in lecture.
